Bosque County Release Meanings
“Released” does not name one outcome. A person may leave Bosque County Jail on a surety, cash, or personal bond. A court may dismiss the charge, award time served, enter a judgment, place the person on community supervision, or order another form of release. Community supervision is the Texas term for probation ordered by a court. At the state level, parole or mandatory supervision permits part of a sentence to be served outside prison under rules. A discharge is different. It means the sentence or supervision duty has ended.
A transfer is not a community release. Someone can leave the Meridian jail for TDCJ, another county, a federal custodian, or immigration custody and remain confined. The sheriff's exit entry should name the reason or receiving agency. Then the receiving system should show the next custody step. This distinction matters in Bosque County because the jail also contracts to hold people for other counties when space permits. The place where someone slept, the agency with legal custody, and the court that controls the case may differ.

The official Bosque County jail page says an arrested person is brought before a magistrate within 24 hours and gets a chance to make the bond set by the judge. That statement concerns magistration, not guaranteed release. If bond is not made, confinement continues until bond or court action. Bosque County does not post a general bond schedule, so the case-specific amount and terms must come from the jail or court.

Not every responsive record will contain every requested item, and lawful redactions or retention limits may apply. A booking photograph can be requested as a separate record. Its existence and disclosure are not guaranteed. The image documents an earlier booking, not a current condition or final case result. Pair any identification need with the disposition and release event rather than treating the photograph as proof of what happened in court.
Request Bosque County Release Records
Bosque County has no official public historical booking search. The durable local route is a written request under the Texas Public Information Act. Address the request to the office that holds the record. Sheriff booking and release data goes to the Sheriff's Office. Court judgments, dismissals, bonds, and orders go to the clerk for the court that heard the case.

The page identifies a process for notice when records cannot be produced within ten business days. That is not a guarantee of completion within ten days. No fixed fee for a release sheet is posted. Ask for an estimate.

The request itself should seek an existing record, not ask the custodian to research or answer a broad question.
Bosque County Release Record Law
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs public-information requests. It does not make every jail or court item open without exception. Confidential data, juvenile material, active-law-enforcement interests, and other statutes can require withholding or redaction. An office may seek an Attorney General decision when an exception is asserted. The specific responsive record and law control.
Expunction is a court-ordered process addressed in Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A. Sealing, nondisclosure, and expunction have different effects. A mere release does not erase a booking or court record. If a court has issued an order, use the certified order with the agency that holds the affected record. Do not assume a vanished web result means the underlying government file was destroyed.
Getting Home After Bosque Release
Release plans should not assume a bus waits outside the jail. The Heart of Texas Rural Transportation District serves Bosque County and lists 254-292-1800, but it does not promise a jail stop, same-day trip, walk-up ride, or pickup at release. Call ahead and ask whether a trip can be scheduled from 266 FM 2840. Family or another approved ride may still be needed if service is unavailable.
The jail publishes no official release hour, exit door, waiting area, property-return policy, or gate-money rule. Those gaps should be resolved with Detention & Booking before travel. A projected court event is not a pickup time. Staff may still need legal authorization, identity checks, hold clearance, records entry, and property processing before someone can leave.
Find Bosque County Released Inmates
Start with the system that held the person. A Bosque pretrial or misdemeanor case belongs on the sheriff and local-court path. A sentenced Texas prisoner belongs with TDCJ. A federal sentence belongs with BOP. Immigration detention belongs with ICE. Searching the wrong system can produce a no-result that proves nothing.

TDCJ Bosque Release Search
The TDCJ Online Inmate Search covers people currently incarcerated in a TDCJ facility. It does not provide a historical released or discharged result after someone leaves. The system updates on working days, and displayed information is at least 24 hours old. A Bosque jail detainee also does not appear there merely because the charge is a felony. TDCJ becomes relevant after an actual state transfer.

While confined, a result may show location, offense, sentence, projected release date, maximum sentence date, and parole-review fields. The projected date is a calculation, not proof that release occurred. For an already released person, email pia@tdcj.texas.gov with the full name and seven-digit TDCJ number, or use an exact birth date or approximate age and conviction county when the number is unknown. The email service is free and does not provide photographs.
Bosque Release Court Records
Local court access is split. The County Clerk links a judicial index and criminal dockets for county-level work. The District Clerk links re:SearchTX and identifies the 220th District Court's felony jurisdiction. One portal is not universal. Use the case number, court, and charge level to choose the custodian, or call the clerk when that routing is unclear.
The judgment or order answers why release was lawful. The jail record answers when staff completed it. The two may carry different dates because an order precedes physical processing. This official re:SearchTX access point is one district-court route documented for Bosque County.

Bosque Release Alerts and Transfers
VINELink Texas may show custody events supplied by participating agencies and may allow notification registration. Confirm Bosque County Jail in the live agency selector. A “released” event from one agency does not rule out a transfer. Contact the source agency for the reason and destination. VINE is a notification aid, not a certified release document.
For a federal case, the BOP Inmate Locator may show a release date or a not-in-BOP-custody statement. Older data and later custody changes can limit what that means. Bosque Jail Transfers After Release
The Bosque County Jail is a 64-bed mixed-gender facility. It contracts to hold out-of-county inmates when space permits and also describes an inmate work crew. The work crew is a jail operation, not a post-release reentry program. Contract housing makes jurisdiction a practical part of every release check.
Ask the release record to identify the arresting or holding authority and any receiving agency. A person who leaves Meridian on another county's hold has not necessarily entered the Bosque community. The next record may belong to that county, TDCJ, BOP, the Marshals Service, or ICE. Follow the named destination rather than treating the local exit timestamp as freedom from all custody.
Bosque County Release Facility
Bosque County Jail is the only confirmed detention facility requiring a local page. No TDCJ prison, BOP institution, or dedicated ICE detention center was found within the county.
